htarragon Posted January 29, 2012 Share Posted January 29, 2012
Well, since it's 1:11AM EST, I don't think that I'm jumping the gun. I haven't been able to bestir myself to go outside for pictures in a couple of weeks due to short days hibernation syndrome, thus no posts for a couple of weeks. Yesterday (Saturday) my wife and I went to the NY (Bronx) Botanical Gardens. There were trees that had started buds and narcissus and snow drops were in evidence. I hope this weird weather doesn't totally screw up the spring season.
Here are my three:
#1

Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

htarragon Posted January 29, 2012 Author Share Posted January 29, 2012
John, if you get any closer, we'll be able to read her mind :-) I would've had to sedate my cat to get that close with a camera.
Yury, are we missing something? At the time, I called the FA 50mm f/1.4 my pizza lens because of its close up and fast speed for indoor.
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
sigmar_dau Posted January 30, 2012 Share Posted January 30, 2012
Haig: Thanks; she's one of my favourite subjects - for obvious reasons of course, but also because, unlike many kids, she keeps a natural expression when posing for the camera.
John: Perfect detail in the cat's eye. Bob, nice colours and contrast.
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
MattB.Net Posted January 30, 2012 Share Posted January 30, 2012
Great stuff so far this week! I didn't shoot much this week but I did sell enough over the last couple of weeks to put in an order for a K-5! (woot!).
Here are some recent XC ski photos.
One from an after work ski last week. I forgot my headlamp and had to ski back to the car in near-total darkness with just that much moon for light. Kind of scary but kind of fun!
Moon & Venus
K-x & da15
<a title="IMGP9663.jpg by MattB.net, on Flickr" href=" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7162/6763708891_eacf32dbc8_z.jpg" alt="IMGP9663.jpg" width="640" height="425" />
Then yesterday I returned to the same area with my family and my son's best friend (an XC ski racer) for a fun family outing. We all slept well last night!
K-x & Tamron 28-75 2.8
<a title="IMGP9684.jpg by MattB.net, on Flickr" href=" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7022/6787645731_bf889f00e7_z.jpg" alt="IMGP9684.jpg" width="640" height="425" />
.
<a title="IMGP9690.jpg by MattB.net, on Flickr" href=" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7156/6787646075_73587f2184_z.jpg" alt="IMGP9690.jpg" width="425" height="640" />

Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
john_behrends Posted January 30, 2012 Share Posted January 30, 2012
Howard, I used the 100mm DFA WR macro for the cat so I was about 2 feet away. My cat doesn't mind anyway!
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
