Diana Question

<p>Does anyone know if the Diana actually focusses? i have one with a nonfunctioning focus ring and while I plan to try it this weekend, was just curious if it does anything or is merely a decoration. Thanks</p>

<p>Brian nothing I have found document-wise suggests a focusing capability. There are several models with a variation in the number of f-stops, but the lens is what it is, no connection - SLR or range-finder - to the viewfinder.<br>

<p>I've got a Rand camera which I'm fairly sure is a Diana under a different name. The lens does focus, that is as you turn it, it moves in and out on a helix of some kind. there are three marked positions, 4-6 feet, 6-12 feet, and 12 feet to infinity.</p>

<p>I had a Diana copy once, a Windsor. It focused, but the effect on the image was minimal. The later (Lomo-style) 35mm cameras (usually sporting a 50mm f6 "Optical Lens") are fixed focus, though. </p>
