erik_christensen3
I have during the last couple of weeks occasionally experienced, that I have to press the playback button 2-3 times before the picture appears on the LCD screen, and then it disappears after a second or it disappears, when I am moving/turning the camera.
Is this the camera or the CF card which guilty? The card is a SanDisk Extreme 16GB 60MB/s.
Gup
Erik, this hasn't happened on my D700 but I would have to suggest the obvious... try a different card.
tom_boston1
Is the green compact flash activity indicator still flashing when you press the playback button?

This sort of behavior happens to me all the time when I fire a burst and I'm too quick to press the playback button. The camera seems to log the first press while it writes the files and when the camera finally gets to showing the picture, the camera has a delayed response to the second press of the playback button which makes the picture disappear quickly.

erik_christensen3
Yes I have tried the obvious - another card - as late as this morning, but today it functioned perfect. I will use another card for a month and see if it happens again, as I have only noticed it occassionally.
Tom - to be honest it could be that I have been too fast, as it happens after a burst. I will try this again, just to see if I am getting faster with age !!
Thanks for your comments.
jose_angel
Exactly the same with mine. Also, sometimes, once the image is displayed, the zooming action does not respond -I press the "enlarge" button but the system looks like freezed. Not a burst issue... I never shoot bursts, lately.
After a couple of seconds, everything returns to normality. Same if I switch off>on the camera. I used to think that it was somekind of abnormal "buffer block", or a cold/humidity issue. I wonder if it happened since the first day.
erik_christensen3
Jose I am sure it is not a cold/humidity issue in my case, as we have dry-season and 32-34 C at present.
I am now using another CF card plus I will try to remember looking at the green light for the card reading.
