Lightroom 3 issue with sorting images in User Order setting

Recommended Posts

Hello Before I completely pull my hair out I'm coming to you in hopes of some troubleshooting help.
I've upgraded my Lightroom to version 3.4.1
I'm rearranging the order of my images as I'm editing them and for some reason it's allowing me to to move some and not others. I'm in the 'User Order' sorting mode. Does anyone have any suggestions?
thank you

This is a bit off, but LR3 related.........I was having trouble Deleting a large group (several hundred) of Rejected photos from my Catalog. They were all selected, but Backspace or Delete did not do anything.
Then I remembered this happened once before and there seems to be a limit of about 100 files at a time that LR will let you remove/delete. Once I selected about 50-75 at a time I was able to delete them as a group as usual.
Just thought the LR users here might find this useful.

Thank you for your responses! Mark - The thumbnail/preview would drag (black line moving with mouse) but wouldn't actually stay there when I release.
I ended up creating a collection of the whole event and I'm moving the image through there. It's just very strange that it allows me to move some and not the others. The reason I do this within the folder is that it allows me to arrange the whole event while editing.... and then rename all in sequential order. I can manage with doing the same in 'collections' just and added step and I wanted to hear any feedback of anyone else experiencing this.

Hey Maya... I had the same problem...! I since discovered that lightroom has trouble moving images around in "user order" mode when some of the images are stacked.

Try this... In the library module, turn off all your filters and select all the images. Then, from lightrooms menu bar, select photo > stacking > unstack. Hope this helps : )
