Hi - my 70-210 Tamron Adaptal manual focus lens is stuck on my D700. The lens releases but when I turn it the last few mm wont go and it wont release from the camera. Also the lens appears to be stuck in a manual aperture mode. I wont force it off, but before it goes to the repair shop has anyone else out there had this problem?

Carefully release the lens itself from the Adapt-all mount. Then try to determine why the mount itself won't release from the D700 body. Above all do not force anything. Saving that you may need to visit the technician, but at least the lens you can leave at home. Wrap the body in a clean freezer bag so dirt doesn't enter the mirror box and soil the sensor.

I've had an apparently stuck lens myself. It turned out that the lens (an old Kiron zoom) was missing a small screwhead that prevents the lens from rotating too far clockwise when detaching the lens. Try rotating the lens or mount slightly anti-clockwise, as if attaching the lens, while pulling it forward. That's all I can offer.

I just had an Adaptall 2 lens get stuck on my girlfriends D5000. I wasn't worried, but I was very concerned. The mount was an "AI" adapter. I was testing the 28mm f/2.5 and the Nikkor 28mm AF lenses on it. I had already shot a set of pictures with both, and had put the Tamron on for a second time when it got stuck. I can't believe that I would have been able to put it on wrong, but it was stuck in a manner that didn't look natural; the solution was to push down a black, spring-loaded tab on body. The black, spring-loaded tab at the "8 o'clock" position of the body mount was keeping a non-spring-loaded tab on the Adaptall 2 part from rotating, thus preventing the lens from unmounting. I took a letter opener, used that to push down the tab on the Nikon, then the tab on the Adaptall 2 could rotate past it.
