randy_smith12
I am searching for a monopod (or unipod) of this nature: The center post is made from round steel tubing, each tube is 2 feet long which screw into each other to make it 6 foot tall. The bottom of this post screws into a 3 wheel base which has a folding arm for each leg (unfold them to use, fold it up to put away). There is no head on top like a regular tripod, instead, the camera support has a hollow tube which slides over and onto the center post to ride up and down on it. It is adjusted up and down using a (spring loaded) lever. The camera attaches to the support on a quick release, and can be rotated verticle or horizontal due to the circular "glide" or "track" that the quick release is attached to.
Any help is appreciated,
Randy

kirk_darling1
I would advocate a true camera stand--Titan, Manfrotto, and Regal-Arcay are some lesser expensive and lighter-weight brands.
However, closer to your description and transportable, a number of people are using the Manfrotto 231B Column Stand (which is really a super heavy duty light stand) as a camera stand.
ellis_vener_photography
You want an Arkay, Cambo, or Foba camera stand. The come in different heights. The Foba's are the best, beautifully machined and very smooth in operation. I see them on eBay regularly at good prices compared to new The Cambo models are also very good. The Arkay models are less expensive but I've never seen one with a sliding arm.
