We had our monthly Group Shoot for the San Diego dSLR Photo Group last night. A bunch of us met for a picnic dinner in Balboa Park, then spent the evening wandering around visiting and taking photos. It was a perfect night to be outside, with an almost full moon.

This is one end of the Alcazar Garden, a small Moorish-style garden tucked away behind one of the museums. K-7, DA 21, 20 sec. at f/7.1, ISO 100. I used my little pocket flashlight to paint the fountain in the foreground with a bit of extra light for this one.

Turning around in the other direction, the almost-full moon was rising behind some scattered clouds. K7, DA 21, 20 sec. at f/7.1, ISO 100.

In addition to my usual "travel / sightseeing" lenses (the DA Limiteds) I spent some time with my old SMCP-A 135 f/2.8 last night as well. I'm trying to get comfortable with the manual focusing through the dSLR viewfinder. So far, it's not been as bad as I remembered the last time I tried it. K-7, SMCP-A 135 f/2.8, 0.6 sec. at f/5.0, ISO 200.

John, I don;t see any images or broken links in your posts either.
Maybe you could try again? For Flickr I copy the html and paste it into my PN post but the images only show in the preview at first until I hit update again and then they show in the message field too. Maybe it's somehow related to that weird thing.

Cool shot John. I'm also drawn to these kinds of flowers.

FYI, I copied and pasted the html for the 640 version, clicked submit, and then update to make the photo show in the text edit box before clicking submit.

John - If you go to your picture in flickr (I couldn't find your stream), put cursor on picture; right click for the drop down menu, click on "Copy image location". Return to photo.net text box, click on the tree icon, put cursor in URL box, hit Ctrl -V or Command -v for mac (I think) to paste URL. It will appear as will picture in text box. Add comments. Hit confirm. It should go to thread.
