zensphoto
I purchased the Topaz B&W Effects they have on sale with the coupon code for my CS4 Master Collection and it definitely speeds up converting color to b&w excellently. I wasn't sure until after I tested it if it was going to do what I wanted. It does a great job with all of its filter effects to give me several different black and white effects and it worth a look see for anyone that likes to covert their color photographs to black and white quickly. I have tried other Topaz effects with good results however the B&W Effects is by far one of the better products they sell. Normally $59.99 going for $29.99 with the coupon code of bwandbeyond.

http://www.topazlabs.com/bweffects/

Worth checking out as I said before.

papasan
I concur, BW Efx is a great piece of software. It gives you complete flexibility and control over monochromatic conversion in one truly affordable package, it even includes local adjustments such as dodging and burning which is really cool for a plug in. Worth checking out (they have a free 30 day trial).
