zeynel_sanli Posted August 16, 2011 Share Posted August 16, 2011 <p>Bursa Photofest is the first International Photography Festival of Bursa, jointly produced by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, Bursa City Council and Bursa Photographic Art Society. Photofest; with the renowned photographers from all around the world and with Turkey’s new voices in photography medium, aims to meet world photography with Turkish photography in Bursa. Carrying a purpose of being a tradition in the following years, Bursa Photofest targets to reach an active and synergistic dialogue between participants, whilst establishing a platform for new and aspiring photographers can show themselves. However, this meeting is not just among photographers. Bursa Photofest aims more importantly the “transformation” of the spaces which Bursa citizens uses intensively by getting the photography out of galleries and exhibition halls and to bring it to the everyday life with new and innovative exhibition concepts. This is why; only by the transformation of Historical Hans and Bazaars District of Bursa, with a hundreds of years’ history and having several tens of thousands visitors every day, into an open gallery this aim would come into life.
