Getting Technical Details in on Photo.net

<p>How do I get the technical details put in automatically to that section of the details tab? I believe of the pictures I have posted, some have have in there and some don't. I am obviously confused. Any specifics on how to do this will be really appreciated.</p>

<p>Some editing\ re-sizing tools will strip out the data. Did you do something different to the pics that are missing the information? Maybe used "Re-size for web" instead of manually re-sizing in your chosen utility.</p>

<p>You need to make sure that your image processing methods are not stripping out the EXIF data when you save. If you explain a bit more about what you are doing to process and save images, I'm sure someone here will be able to offer you advice.</p>

<p>Josh, I think that sounds like the problem, and I am having an awful time already with my image processing methods. I want to switch to something else, and am open to suggestions. Right now I am using 2 programs because neither does everything I want. Irfanview doesn't support RAW but I can resize once I save photos I've opened in Picassa. I don't like the way Picassa organizes the files or method for resizing. Does anyone have an idea of what has happed with my EXIF info, but more than that, I would love a suggestion for post production. Is Adobe Lightroom the best way to go? An additional questions. I hear that each time I save a pic as a jpg file it degrades the image...how do I deal with that? </p>

<p>Head on over to the Digital Darkroom and ask those guys what they would suggest. Lots of nice folks over there and they will help you come up with something that works better.</p>

<p>Irfanview definitely strips the EXIF data when you resize it, at least it always did with mine.<br>

Josh has the right method, though, ask the digital darkroom experts for better processing software recommendations.</p>
