david_schilling___chicago_
Actually Maria, I tend to agree with some of the "harsh" comments and find them to be more on the critically honest-side rather than harsh.....more often than not, and generally speaking, I find most of the comments here on the forum overly acceptive of poor technique, often in the name of some artistic license.

maira_sharron
David, you're not doing anyone any favors by holding back. How do people learn, if real critique is not given from those seasoned vets on this board? Had I gotten glowing reviews of this image, and nothing else, I would have been surprised. I knew it had faults, but was curious to see what others would say about it and what they would have done differently. I also like to see other edits of the image. I, for one, am extremely happy that this image was chosen and to have received the various responses from those that contributed. I see that it's not a 100 percent loser, because the comments were all over the board and some people did like it -- and though it is fuzzy on the internet, when I print it, it looks pretty sweet. I give myself decent credit for concept and composition and take my lumps regarding execution. I need all three to hit the homerun. I will next time.
wclark5179
I like your photograph. It shows creativity on your part and your ability of getting the client to cooperate with you.

My suggestion, I apologize if you feel I goofed up your image, is to take away the lamp so as the eye goes to the brides face/body. That's what I quickly did. Hope you forgive me.

Nice job. And I like how you don't have the horizon cutting through the head of the bride.

Keep up the good work.

JohnWebster
I like everything about this image except the strength and color saturation of the lantern light and her skin. My preference is shown.
