"Ok, Pops,
Where's that &%$#!in' lollipop you promised me about an hour ago?"

Richard, while there are many fine photos posted today, you get the "prize". This one will, however, come back to haunt you when she gets old enough to call in that marker. |;-}}}

I have been out with my Nikon Pronea and the 500mm Reflex Nikkor I recently aquired. Using Boots 200 film and a cable release I have been working on getting the best out of the combo. Hard work, but rewarding in many ways in that I can pick out parts of a landscape almost like you can 'zoom in' with your eyes (selective vision).

00ZAaz-388393584.JPG.f5f40a0ed33c650d01997d31ddc62fb2.JPG

Something a little different from my previous postings here. I took this portrait of a photographer friend in a Brookline cafe with a Yashica GX rangefinder camera, using Tri-X film, and scanned it on my Nikon Coolscan V. I've been experimenting again with film. It's actually quite a bit of fun to unwind the roll from the reel and see the negatives.

Spent last weekend firing and running a 100 year old steam tractor and the Thresherman's festival in Federalsburg MD - hot, dirty, work and the afternoon temperatures pushing 100 didn't help. The steam tractors power rock crushing machines, sawmills, and threshing machines using 6-8" wide leather belts up to 70 ft long. This shot is of the crew finishing loading cut wheat into a threshing machine.

00ZAhq-388533584.jpg.d8b36d6be40f27decb9bc20777f4231a.jpg

Thank you everyone for your comments! I never expected such a great response to this photo. Yesterday was her first birthday and I felt it appropriate to post a photo of her on Nikon Wednesday.

As a side note, she was very pleased to pose for me when standing up. It was only when sitting that she gave me her grumpy face. She's very photogenic and will no doubt pose for me in the future. More photos from the day can be seen HERE. I made it a Public gallery temporarily and will make it private again on Saturday.

Some of my favorites, (now that I've gotten a chance to look at them all), are Matt L, Gary S, Shun, Tom P and Ralph O.

Great shots from everyone else, as usual!

Thanks again everyone!
RS
