Ken Katz
Yes, I did the unthinkable last week and played "uncle Bob" and photographed my nephew's Bar Mitzvah. I survived the day and now need to consider how to best get an album produced. Unless I pretend to be a professional photographer, I will not have access to the typical professional resources. Some of the options I am considering include using Blurb to make a photo album, or perhaps using Adorama, who claims to have a product that is similar to a Blurb book, but uses real silver halide photo paper instead of a press book process. http://www.adoramapix.com/products/books My question is, does any of you know of other venders who would produce a high quality album for a non professional photographer? Any other suggestions? Cost is really not going to be an issue. thanks
marvin_dsoza
Hi,
According to my suggestions if you want to produce high quality album for a non professional photographer than you have to do work by an expert photographer who understand all your requirements and fulfill that.
Regards
wedding photographer Liverpool
fuccisphotos
Kenneth,

If you were playing uncle Bob, and that's the only photos they have to go on, then I would suggest finding a photographer or album designer who would be willing to take your photos and translate them into a professional album instead. This is something they will want to keep for a very long time, so it should be archival quality.

mneace
As you did not ask if you should use a professional photographer I'll chime in and say that the AdoramaPix books are of good quality photo paper. We have used them for clients on a very tight budget. That said, at least 2 of our prospective clients have commented that the AdoramaPix books remind them of a high school yearbook. I don't agree, as the photo paper is superior to any yearbook I've ever seen. But, with clients perception is reality.
sravan
I liked Adorama books. The layout manager was easy enough to create my own layouts. I hate predefined layouts and it was pretty easy to create new layouts for each page.
The output was also good. The two page spreads were great.
m_m3
If you use Aperture, you can design and order a book from the software. The book will be produced by Kodak - or you can go to Kodak directly.
sherijohnson
Adorama will give you a much higher quality book than blurb, it is printed 100% on real photo paper including the cover. I am sure you will like it.
Ken Katz
Thank you for your responses. I will likely go with an Adorama book. My Brother/sister in law will always have the option in the future to take my files and have a higher quality book produced.

helen_oster
We just made an AdoramaPix photobook for my father-in-law for his 80th (truthfully, my 11-year-old son did most of it....)

Obviously (?!) I didn't look around at any of the competition before we started, but we couldn't have been more thrilled with the results. As I work mostly on the Adorama Camera side of the business I didn't really know what to expect, other than what I'd read in so many rave reviews from customers of the Pix product.

My Dad will be 80 in two years, and we hope to repeat the process for him.
Helen Oster
Adorama Camera Customer Service Ambassador
