From the festival. We have crowds of people invade our small town. The estimate of the influx is about 300,000. I live only a few blocks from the festival grounds, and the crowds were really annoying before I developed an interest in photography. Now I have lots of fun with my camera. Was happy to have my Tamron 18-270 lens to be able to zoom in on people at a distance or out at those close by.

00YYsZ-347919584.jpg.4d6664023653ce1f998365b4cc78b2e0.jpg

Lots of great work as usual. Here are my thoughts on a few
Frank B. ~ Cute!
Hamish G ~ Wow. All of those water drops are stunning, but that very large spider is awfully creepy! Great image.
Shun C ~ Nice. I have had daughters playing softball for the past 12 years. Now my oldest has graduated, and my youngest no longer wants to play. I am really going to miss the ball park this spring!
Kent S ~ Adorable little lambs. Perfect as Easter nears.
Rick D ~ Congrats to your daughter's friend, and to you for capturing it!
James K~ Lovely...almost makes me miss snow
Bogdan N~ Love the expression on the little girl on the right
Keith J~ Are those baby squirrels in the glass? I'm sure your cat would much prefer them as a snack!

Elliot I'm a native Pittsburgher so you know I enjoyed yours.
Kent those lambs are way too cute.
Alex the timing chain is incredible. Too bad the outside of our engines don't stay as clean. :-)
Phil Burt that shot of the two bulls is my favorite. Just great.

I just arrived in Georgia for a family visit preceded by a 15 hour car ride and jumped right in to a family card game. The south is really enjoying the thrust of Spring. Great shots displayed today as usual.

00YYvm-347983584.jpg.5861a0e388afe66f9070de8b8abf22d4.jpg

Hello, everyone! Great photos today!
I was just pulling out of the driveway to take my dog for a walk, when I saw deer grazing across the street. I had my D90, but not with a zoom -- just the 35 mm f1.8. Since the deer was very trusting (or very brazen), I've managed to get really close and the picture has required a very minimal crop (to get rid of the blown out sky in the right upper corner.)

00YYvq-347987584.jpg.b4986b5963ffa093d2ac38ae5193e859.jpg

John: The outside of the engine isn't so bad (altho it was getting a bit of an oil bath)… the outside of the car is /filthy/. It did finally rain this morning, so it almost looks clean… but black cars are a pain to keep clean.

For the rest: THANKS! Getting everything apart was /easy/ in typical German fashion, but there are many more pieces than I'm used to.

Here's what caught my eye this week, plus more.
Hamish Gray, the bubbles really make it an unusual spider shot.
Alex Zepeda, very nice still life turns mechanics into art.
Miha Hadl, I love his expression with the eyes almost crossed.
Ray Gosalia, nice seperation of the subject bldg from the other distractions.
James Kazan, nice snow scene, just enough color to add depth.
Kris Bochenek, simple portrait with nice gesture caught my attention.
Doug Rice, it's funny but because of the twisting it looks like two different people at different points.
Tim Holte, nice enviromental portrait, I could see this published in Outside magazine.
jf zhang, dinner!
Mark Parks, very nice tonality across full range.
nicolaie costel, very cute with his head cocked, what 's going on here?
Jennifer Meighan, fun expression caught my eye.
Dave Lee, wow I miss that camera, so many adventures, Got my first used Nikon F when I graduated from high school. Caving, diving, mountain climbing, river rafting, canoing, and wonderful nudes, that camera shared it all.
