hillsdalemichigan
It really isn't that hard. Be very careful and patient. You might want to post in the rangefinderforum under folders.
starvy
Keith, the front element is not difficult to take off but you need to be very careful with regards to focus alignment.
Check out the following links before proceeding -
http://www.kyphoto.com/classics/forum/messages/2/19616.html?1282252078
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12770
http://www.davidrichert.com/zeiss_521_16_compur_rapid_shutter.htm
rashed_s
I do not know if it is possible to remove the fungus effect from a glass, depend also of the fungus did attack the coating of the lens, then it is beyond cleaning.
This is why it is always recommended to keep large amount of silica gill in your back, the silica gill also should be in a cloth back which could be open, as in a while the silica jill need to be exposed to the sun light to bring it back to its original strength.
coomber
As Starvy has already posted, the main thing is to take your time and be prepared to reset the focusing after you get it all together. I've CLA'd a few folders and it's really quite easy when you get into it.
One of the beauty's of an old folder in this regard is that the lens is likely not to be coated anyway so the fungus can do less damage! Good luck.
