""made in Germany instead of Canada"
Hogwash. The Bo-ke king is a Canadian Leitz lens design (Mandler) and just as well made as the German copy."

Arthur, that may be the case (I actually believe that it is the case), but that does not change the fact that many of the masses now purchasing Leica lenses want the letters on the front or side of the lens to say "Germany" not "Canada". As such, whether a lens was made in Canada or Germany is a pricing factor.

Arthur, I am not unhappy with Leica as fine gear, just what has happened to the prices. A few months ago, I owned some of the very best stuff they make, 28/2 Summicron, 35 1.4 asph, 50 1.4 asph LHSA in a black paint MP3 kit, etc. I would like to get this lens soon but the project I need it for does not start until May.
I understand about the bokeh, but honestly, most people who go crazy with the lens in that regard don't post very good subject matter, get too wrapped up in the gear. I just want the best combo of small and sharp for this M6 to have for the rest of my life. One would say splurge, but I am not willing to spend more than $1,400 for this lens on principal alone.
