I was messing around on the Grande Arche at La Defense and spotted the moon coming up from behind the Arche de Triomphe which is 3 miles away. It was rising amazingly fast too. Had a borrowed Sigma 80-400 beater lens and an old Gitzo Reporter.
D300, 320mm, 1.6secs @ f8, ISO200

00YRLv-341389784.jpg.8c04f9bdf4c9419b2584956b3c09495a.jpg

This image was captured on the first day of Spring. The snow had finally dissipated enough tho allow these whitetail deer to browse. Coincidentally we treated to another 3" snow covering the following day. So welcome to Spring and what a difference a day makes here in the northeast.

Good Wednesday everyone. Lots of great photos every week. Just had some more snow and ice covered roads last night here in Michigan; so much for the calendar saying it's Spring. Nikon D300 18-70 mm lens; Tawas public boat launch

00YRMx-341413584.jpg.c45250ee6ddbc258133a9a29dacf8f17.jpg

Good Wednesday morning everyone. Another fantastic lineup of photographs this morning.
Matt great shot and a nice way to celebrate Spring for sure.
Beautiful bird shots as usual. Mine today is a shot of an old abandoned barn in the Ohio countryside.

This is last Saturday's "supermoon" about 30 minutes after it rose in the east. I shot with daylight white balance and didn't do anything to change the color in post—it really was orange.

A few minutes later I found a location with a nice barn and silo in the foreground, but a pair of pesky, protective farm dogs with powerful voices convinced me not to get out of the car.

D300 with 400mm f/2.8 AIS + TC-14B, ISO 400, f/4 (f/5.6 effective). One exposure at 1/100 and one at 1/2 sec. combined in Photoshop.

00YRN7-341417584.jpg.36ddbe5c8b1c80c560cddc980a1f8fd8.jpg

I stopped along the side of the road to photograph an eagle and this cardinal started attacking my mirror. Spring is hear in Fl. and all the birds seem to be in strange moods. Nikon D3, Nikon 300 2.8, F/8, 1/500sec, ISO 400

00YRNW-341425684.jpg.fc6c5ebfdd6af0712b67e00657f53cfa.jpg

Peter so sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved Finney.
"Grief is so painfully real, regardless of its origin.
The love of, and attachment to, an animal friend can
equal that of human relationships. Likewise,
the loss of an animal can be just as devastating."

Really nice photos up already! Thank you to those who commented on my photo last week. Much appreciated. Peter, I'm so sorry about Finney. Beautiful dog and know you lost a good friend. :(

Lots of small wildflowers are popping up, and also seeing a lot of small bugs. Here's one with an itsy, bitsy spider. D90/Tamron 60 @ 1/125, f/8, ISO 250.
