hil3
Good point about Leica Warranty. I've never had one of those. So disregard the "factor in" comments and buy this spankin' new baby loaded with a warranty pronto!
photo5
Actually it is a used camera, probably comes with their used warranty, so no free Leica service probably...
richard_bud
The Optical ASA Upgrade is still free no matter what the M7 Warranty status. I had my second M7 done at the same time as the M7 I had purchased under Warranty. I did pay for the Finder Upgrade but the camera was also ClA'd for the same price.
You did not specify in your initial Post that the camera was used and that negates all my comments. hil3
Yep, now that we know that the camera is used, I'll go back to my original comments regarding current costs. My M7 was also purchased used. Summary: DX reader, free. MP viewfinder + CLA, $660.00. Time needed by Leica to perform the work, 11 weeks door-to-door. YMMV.
Robert_Lai
It might still turn out to be a good deal. My M7 was $2500 + 550 service = 3050.

I don't know how much a good used Summicron is, but I've seen them go for about 1250 on ebay recently.

So, if the asking cost is less than 3750 (keeping the Leica $550 cost in mind as an extra future cost), then it may be worth it. Of course, condition is everything when buying used.
