Leica/Leitz Accessory Kit LE II

I rescued two aluminum Halliburton cases from being destroyed a few years back while going through an old warehouse. Inside the cases were a bunch of different Leica M (I think) accessories such as flashes, telephoto lenses, bellows and a bunch of other stuff. The category says it all....any insight any of you could give me would be much appreciated. I would love to find someone who could actually use this stuff. Thanks!

00YNe3-339039584.jpg.2f188282780560d9867cbf1277cc4ebc.jpg

In decending order: Visoflex III reflex housing for Leica M rangefinder cameras; Bellows II for close up photography with visoflex; Leitz Canada 280mmm f4.8 lens for visoflex; old Honeywell flash unit; accessories for visoflex (including reversed view 5X chimney viewer, focussing mount; reprography attachmebnt, etc.; Leitz table tripod. Seems like interesting stuff in good condition (visually at least). You might want to check eBay completed listings (green) for an idea of selling prices of individual items. Lucky find, and odd that the owner didn't leave some identification.

Arthur, thanks for the quick response! It was my company's warehouse and everything that was not on the books was destined for the dump...lucky find indeed! I have two Halliburton cases that the sets came in, really cool stuff. I will check Ebay and see what I find....if nothing else I will pick up a Leica M rangefinder....thanks again.

at one point in the production life of the M's they produced the halliburton cases of accesories for the military M's they were selling. As a user note, you can get replacement foam liners for the cases from Halliburton, I suspect the foam is badly deteriorated by this time.

Will, you are absolutely correct about the foam....I had to pull it all out and discard it. I will look into replacing the foam...thanks for the tip. I did search Ebay and found most of the items were still in demand, though I did not find any sets like what I have here. Pretty cool....

James, thanks for the information. This equipment seems to be pretty desirable still, that's just a credit to the company's reputation and build quality. That's great that it fits so many different models. Thanks again for the information! I love this forum, ask a question, get an answer!

 • 1 year later...

Shortly after starting this thread, and receiving a bunch of great feedback, I was notified about an upcoming deployment to Afghanistan. At the time, I was trying to figure out whether I wanted to find a camera for this gear or sell it to someone who might actually use it. Over a year later, back from the desert, I've done neither.
I've done quite a bit of research, but I haven't found a complete setup like mine with the Halliburton case to compare it to yet. Has anyone ever seen a complete kit like this? I'd love to find it all a good home....plus, I'm trying to get some funds together for a new camera. The past year with nothing but a P&S...uhg! (: Thanks!!

This is a great thing to have. Could be time to stick your toe in the eccentric side of Leica M series water rather than dispose of. With new models out, full frame M9s are reduced in price. Lenses are the problem.
Otherwise, a decent camera auction or Ebay will find someone who wants it, hopefully a user-collector.
While there is nothing wrong with having a foot in the past, any new digital SLR will be 10 times easier to use and heaps lighter than an M series & Visoflex. Any visoflex lens can be used on a digital SLR with suitable adaptor of course.
