Fortunate to have beautiful weather over the weekend, I spent an early morning photographing the matriarch of a Virginia family, out walking in one of the family farm's pastures. My hunting dogs were along for the outing, and the big male would normally have spent every second cruising the field's hedges. But once I walked him over to say hi to her, he simply wouldn't leave her side. He's become such a gentleman in his older years. Had your Nikon gear out in the sun? Share a photo!

phil_burt
Again it is off to a great start.
Matt another great dog shot. I love the composition.
Martin Z ... a really looking portrait.
Jana Hughes, your portrait is absolutely stunning.
This week I have our Cat, Fluffy< playing out in the back and as she was running toward the barn she jumped up and stopped in her tracks. I'm guessing a field mouse or something else got her entire body attention. I had my Nikon D90 sitting there with a Nikon 50mm@f5.6, iso 200, full manual hand held so I popped off a couple of shots but I didn't think I could use anything as it was a little far. I cropped very severely and liked what I saw. I little sharpening and color saturation and of course some framing is all that was done.
I was using the 50 as I am going to try to take a whole month with each one of my lenses to try to learn more about them. Unless I have something special to shoot.
Thanks for looking.
phil b
benton, ky

robert_wayt
Well, I wanted to go with Matt's suggested theme of the week, but about the only sun we've had around here lately has been liquid. So I went to the well and pulled this shot from last summer's file: a little blondie at a concert in the park. The music was good, but her youthful romp in the sun was way better.
