Vitomatic lens swap

<p>I have a Vitomatic with a best light meter and rangefinder. It had been dropped and my camera repair guy did his best but had to give up.</p>

<p>It has the Ultron 2.0 lens - what chance this could be put on another Vitomatic if I found another one?</p>

<p>Expensive repair and swap, look for another with Ultron and working rangefinder. The meter may be dead on any camera you buy of this vintage, thus not critical for use. Handheld meter is the answer.</p>

<p>I suspect it would be easier to swap the rangefinder and meter, depending on the damage. The rangefinder uses a glued-together assembly that is basically trashed if it breaks. If the moving parts aren't damaged, it should be easy to replace that block. Ii don't know whether the meter would interchange between a 2.0 and a 2.8 version, but it might, depending on what part of the meter is bad.</p>

<p>If the lens and shutter is working use it as a scale focus camera. Ultron is a fantastic lens and deserve to be used.</p>

Irvince if the light meter is broke.. just use it with a handheld.. The Ultron is a great lens and trying to mix this lens with another camera is just not financially sensible!!
