bikealps
bicycle racing -- a time trial in the freezing rain!

my hand is injured from a crash in a race last weekend so I could not race myself -- result was a great day with the camera

the cold rain made for a great photographic opportunity... a bit harder to use the equipment and less light to work with but the rain makes the riders really suffer, which gives great expressions, plus the road is wet and you can get reflections, plus the spray from the wheels really looks nice!

this photo is a blur shot of John Ford from Morgan Stanley race team

josepharmand
Ok, since I was stuck in a auto driving from Texas to Washington State, I didn't get the opportunity to shoot much more than a couple of Cactus and Joshua Trees. As a result, I don't have anything to post. However I love the open road shot that Allan took of John Cheetham. I would have processed it a wee bit differently. I love to use 'black' to enhanse shots. Add a little more black into the photo and it adds more contrast without overdoing the 'contrast' which I see so many photographers do. Here is my rendition of the same photo. Thank you Allan, I love these kind of photos (Which is ironic as I just spent many hours driving through Death Valley which actually gets kind of scary, even these days) J.
