Something to balance out the cat photos. Don't know if it's my favorite photo of 2010, but it's my favorite dog photo (i.e. favorite photo of a dog, not necessarily my favorite dog). Of course it's not in the same league as other portraits posted in this section. I'll have to check the canoe/dog photos for Justin.

I know it's a bit late to comment..

Marian, that photo got my attention the first time I saw it. I have come back to this thread quite a number of times, and each time I find myself connect strongly with your photo. The expression on the girl's beautiful face and her wave, while the two boys are caught in a moment of time- combined with the color treatment of the photo.. I know that I am rambling but this photo touches me.

There are so many good photos in this thread. I am constantly motivated to improve not only my skill level but my ability to see.

Julie, I LOVE the dog shot. You just know this dog owns everything around him.

ok i was going to my brother in law's wedding and was in charge of taking some photos for them and this is one of the many shoots i got that day but by far it is my best. This shoot was taken with a vivitar v3800n film camera and a vivitar 50mm lens at f5.6 this is my daughter on the front pourch of their house on a swing looking "O" so happy. but i love this shoot and hope you all will too.

00Y7B2-326019584.thumb.jpg.54a5118d803cd90013442ae35f15d2f6.jpg

Hope I'm not too late....This is my favourite for several reasons apart from the fact that I like looking at it, and still find interesting things in the detail. It scored a Silver with Distinction at the Professional Photography Awards for our state (South Australia) last November, and the highest scoring of the 4 prints that won me the Illustrative/Fine Art Professional Photographer of the Year Award which was a big and very pleasant surprise. And I like it because was taken with one of my favourite lenses, a 30 year old $90 M series 135mm f3.5, on my K10D, which must be worth all of $200 now. Useful to consider when I start falling into the seductive "a few more thousand dollars on sexy gear will surely make me a better photographer" way of thinking.
