<p><b>Notes from Corey and Peter on selecting the winner</b>:</p>

<p>The mountain-bike image is the winner. It's fantastic light and a beautiful composition. We really like the

feel of the dust and the biker positioned perfectly in the lower third of the photo, also the sunflare/starburst

coming through the tree. Very beautiful color palette and great moment/great composition.</p>

The next 2 are honorable mentions. We like the attempt on both of these. These photographers are trying to push

themselves beyond what's comfortable in terms of technical skills and shooting at a time of day with light that

does not fit into the normal parameters of 1/60s, 1/20s, 1/125s. We like the idea that the photographer is

trying to use a nighttime environment to get stars in the sky and she's lighting the tent and has

subjects trying to stand still--this is great. The camping scene is an interesting composition, although the lens

distortion on the legs of the guy standing by the fire isn't all that flattering. Spinning fire on the beach is a

nice attempt at doing something that's outside the box. Not the most compelling composition and a little sloppy

on the upper right hand side in terms of not cropping out the tree but we like the idea that this shot is made

(or so it seems) at nighttime spinning fire/flashlights and using light that is outside the norm and probably outside this

photographer's comfort zone.</p>

<p>Great effort across the board, really fantastic pictures.</p>
