mark_harrington1
My daughter is getting married in a year. Obviously photos are important to me, but knowing the costs etc, I'm not sure how much profit I'm willng to give someone to do work like album design, retouching and enlargements. Just out of curiosity, how would you handle this?
kayumangi
Not sure what you mean. Are you shooting her wedding? or are you hiring someone?
picturesque
I personally have done work for other photographers where I handed over the RAW files after the wedding. Many apparently won't do this. I suggest you find someone who will.
alex_dc
Don't you have any friends in the industry? The may be more amenable to handing over files and giving you control of the outcome.
wedding-photography-denver
I would ask for the adjusted files and only get someone who you know can produce consistently.
benjamin_tapper
I'd hire someone I know is better than me, there are several photogs out there that I look to for inspiration. I'm happy to pay someone for work I enjoy, plus getting to see them work is a bonus.
duncan_holmes2
It's her wedding, surely she should have some say in the proceedings and who takes the pictures? You can offer an opinion (and maybe have a little say in the choice if you're paying), but I would play the father of the bride, not the editor in chief.
nishnishant
Duncan,

Maybe he's paying for the photography in which case he has as much of a say on who he picks as the bride.
melissapapajphotography
I would say hire a photographer who gives you the digital images so you can do that work yourself. I live in a state that every professional here gives the CD of images and if they don't they don't book work. Best of luck!
oltre_logo
I think first of all you must see the quality of photo and then see the prize. Your daughter's married not comes again.
magnus2
If you are a wedding photographer then I believe you should support other wedding photographers - do not cut down the profit because you can do it. Everyone has their way of doing it - if you ask somone to complete half their work then I personally believe it will not work.
