David: I love the composition, but the background feels distracting to me because of the sharpness. I would try maybe using NX2's lasso tool to sharpen up the foreground only.

Pink-necked Green Pigeon. This bird is quite tame. I managed to get to almost 15 feet to it before it flew away, but still couldn't get a uncluttered shot. Likes to hide between branches and leaves.

I have not yet processed any of the images taken in the last couple of weeks, so will commence my 2011 contributions next week. However I want to wish all of you an excellent, fulfilling year.

As for this week's images, wonderful as usual. My faves are from Bogdan, Paula, Gej, Roberta, Bill, Karissa, Chris, and Miguel.

Javier, glad you like my photo, I follow Documentary WNW threads where you post frequently, for me those are some of the best photos you can see around here on p.net. B M Mills, thanks for mentioning my shot, your Dubai laborer is a great portrait and surely not easy to get.
Great shots here as usual, excellent virtual tour around the world.

My photo is a view of the Melbourne New Year fireworks display shot from the strand along the Williamstown waterfront. The city of Melbourne can be seen on the far right. This shot may create the impression that the fireworks are close to the ship, but they are literally a few miles away. The grey haze is the accumulation of fireworks smoke.
