arun_seetharam
Waiting for the Holiday boat parade on the intercoastal waterway in Ft. Lauderdale. Soon the tranquility of this place will explode into noises from bands, fireworks etc. etc. Well worth it to realize the value of silence. :-)
Anyways......This was on a D90, Nikkor 35mm f2 @ ISO 200, f8, 1sec, Matrix, multipoint focus. Did I leave out anything?? Oh yea Aperture 3.1 converted NEF to jpg. I think LR3 is much better.

lisae
Martha, your picture of the rhinoceros made me laugh! What a great capture!

My Wednesdays at the zoo are over until next Fall so my children and I visited the city aquarium last Wednesday. I'm always struck by the beauty of piranhas. I expect them to look like horrible monsters, but instead they flash with color as they swim around their tank.

jos__arnaud
Hello Fellow Nikonians !
Today I crossed the river Tagus to have lunch at a lovely fish restaurant at Trafaria, in front of Lisboa. Fish was very fresh, as usual, and the weather was fine, at 10 celsius, and as sunny as you can see. As most of you are already freezing and confined to indoor photos, I have decided to send you a warming picture. I hope you enjoy it !

jeannean_.
Thanks Jeff. I live by a canal (about 100yrds or so from my backyard) and there is all sorts of wildlife there (and surrounding area) from bugs, to birds, to racoons, etc. Not too many in my yard though. My two dogs chase them off...or eat them. : \

JamieHarre
Nikon Buddies,
Very wonderful shots, today, including the contributions from Paula W (I could watch those guys all day), Thomas G, Hamish G, Aguinaldo de P, Ian T, Tim H, Peter G, Martha B.
For my post, we had an unusual intersection of outdoor blooms (begonias, I believe), Christmas manger scene, and snow. Only the manger scene remains...

photo5
I'm out shooting my last few rolls of Kodachrome today and this weekend. Brought along my D300 to shoot digital side by side. The photo below is of my favorite place to eat, the Roanoke Inn on Mercer Island, WA. They have a great menu and always have a great selection of beer, and a full bar as they are a tavern. Built in 1914 when ferry service from Seattle was established to the island. It's been owned and operated by the same family since 1953.
