pieter_nel1
I've been away but there are great pictures as usual. My contribution is a pair of raptors taken at Caloundra during a recent visit to Australia. Despite my best attempts I could not identify them but perhaps Greg K or Grant T could help out. wayne_wrights
My image this week was taken while helping a friend at a wedding. I was taking shots using my mono-pod. I decided to be creative and try something new, at least for me, as I don't do weddings. I was using my Nikon D300 with a Nikon 20mm f2.8 lens, Nikon SB900 flash, with a Nikon MC-36 multi function remote. I positioned the camera on the mono-pod and using the mono-pod as a boom pole, I was able to get aerial type shots. Thanks for looking...

jannekaakinen
Talking about cold weather, I took the D7000 I bought for work for a test drive and went out with few friends, both human and canine type. It was a really cold morning, -20 C, and I'm happy to report that the D7000 handled the freezing weather very well. Not the sharpest shot of the day but my better half was absolutely sure that I should choose it anyway for my Wednesday Pic.

A few of my favourites so far come from Paula Wang, Hamish Gray, Ton Mestrom, Tim Holte, Andres Arteaga and Scott Murphy. tgersten
Walking home late night after a shooting a concert I almost didn't take any shots of the first snow; tired, too late, no tripod, ugly orange streetlights, too cold, you name it.

Nikon D700 at ISO 5000, 24-70/2.8, 1/50s @ f/2.8, RAW edited in Adobe Lightroom 3.
