Kent Shafer
My nephew enjoying soup in a restaurant. It was very dark, and what little light there was was a mixture of weird colors. Black and white seemed the best solution.

D700, 24-70 @ 36mm, resting on table. ISO 6400, 1/20 @ f/2.8.

Dieter Schaefer
The 105/2.5 Ai was the first lens I purchased in 1979 but it soon got neglected and zooms took its place in my bag. Nowadays, I have a better appreciation for this lens and am glad I hung onto it. I had trouble focusing it on a D200 and D300 and blamed the viewfinder - until it turned out that I needed progressive glasses to overcome the onset of presbyopia. Didn't have the chance to shoot some portraits, for which this lens now has become a favorite (again) but couldn't resits taking it around the block for a spin nonetheless.

photojen
I had the honor of photographing this year's area Sturge-Weber Foundation Turkey Bowl (pictured here is the winning team and the host and my friend, in the bright orange, holding the banner) on Thanksgiving Day. A very sizable amount of money was donated for the cause including 100% of my profits from photoing families and friends and printing them right there, at the function. It was a blast~ a great live alternative rock band, an open bar, fire pits, entertainment for children (balloon artist, bounce house, paper origami crafts table and a clown) and of course football~ you know the place was rocking when the cops showed up at 10:30am to tell the band to turn it down (funny thing is, is that the host is a state cop, so were a good portion of the guests, so needless to say, the band continued to crank it). We had a blast, I busted my hump and we raised great funds and awareness for the Sturge-Weber Foundation. A very good and eventful day, all around. (all permissions were gained by me for use of this photo)
