Another box of mysteries

Wow, great! I never thought that any of the vintage Found Film would include a computer, but that's definitely a vintage shot. I don't think my 16 y/o son can even imagine a computer that doesn't have a menu. That shot does belong.

Yes, the photog was good.

What is the really tall roll of film in the box?

It still amazes me that they just junked these films, those shots to me are just priceless. Also the quality is really a step up from the usual, really well lit in some shots. The film is a clue, Tri-X is, after all, a professional film....says so on the box!
Keep up your really good work Gene.

Gene, the first skyline pic looks somewhat reminiscent of the city of San Francisco from the Bay, probably somewhere near Alcatraz Island. The land mass on the right might be Sausalito CA. In the second skyline pic, it's a little hazy but the large building near the left of center might be one of the large United Airlines hangars at SFO. As fuzzy and hazy as it is, it might also be Candlestick Park.

Also, if the skyline shots are San Francisco, I don't see the Transamerica Pyramid (or it's cloaked in fog). That building was completed in 1972 which may help date the roll if it really is SF Bay.

Also, some days the Golden Gate Bridge isn't visible in the afternoons unless you're on the hills above it (Golden Gate National Recreation Area/Fort Baker/Fort Cronkite), due to the thermal heating of the Central Valley air rising and pulling in massive amounts of cooler ocean air.

Just me 2 cents, but it does look familiar...I live about 40 miles due east of here.

I believe the shots were taken on the ferry approaching Seattle. The landmass on the right is West Seattle and the Alki beach area. The second photo was the identifier for me. Note the white building on the left. It should be this structure shown here in the color photo.

Gene - awesome post, with superb quality. These shots are definitely from the second half of the 80s decade, judging from the computer with dual 5.25" floppies. Also, the edgy straight lines of the vehicles, remind me of my 1985 Chrysler New Yorker I drove around until about 1992. Very nice post.
