justin_smith11
i just saw a mini tri-pod on the rei outlet website or not sure the exact link. anyway, looks real sturdy and light. I figure it is probably well made if its on rei. good for rugged terrain and hikes i guess. think its only ten or fifteen bucks
steve_wagner1
With the Gtizo traveler you're paying almost $500 extra over the Manfrotto, both carbon fiber, for a unit that has 4 leg sections instead of three, which is a pain and a liability when the legs are so thin to begin with, and twist lock legs, which is also a pain. I've owned and used both Gitzo and Manfrotto. Granted Gitzo quality control is better in general, but the 732 is a very well designed, well built tripod, and I would take it any day over the Gitzo just for the user experience, not to mention the ridiculous price difference.
RaymondC
I haven't checked Manfrotto / Bogen in a long time but afaik, Gitzo has tripods that are shorter when folded and they tend to have larger capacities, but not sure re:t he traveler vs the equiv. others. Their std Gitzo's certainly have a way higher load capacity than Manfrotto.

Feisol has a much cheaper and v similar 180 deg fold back as the traveler. Check it online.
My traveler folds down to 35cm with head attached.
