Profoto Set up

<p>Ok guys I'm trying to figure out how to price my stuff. I have a Profoto Acute 2 1200w/s with 2 D4 light kit a 5' Profoto octobox, a 4'X6' profoto softbox and 2 speed rings. I know I paid 3100 for the acute kit and about 650.00 a piece for the softboxes and 150 a piece for the speed rings. I've only had them for about 8 months and used only in studio. What kind of pricing can I expect to get for these items? I'm getting some really really low offers on some of this stuff and I'm just dumbfounded that Profoto can depreciate THAT much in so little time especially in the great shape they are in. </p>

<p>Top-name brands (Profoto, Broncolor, Elinchrom to name a few) generally don't depreciate as much (nor as quickly) as lesser-known or less expensive brands (*generally*). That said, they *do* depreciate! Getting a 90% return on your investment is unrealistic. If your offers are less than 50% of replacement value that's not realistic either. If the equipment is in good condition, I'd look more in the 70-80% range.</p>

<p>Wow! that is a lot of money for lighting equipment. The problem that I see is all the pro I know buy all there equipment new and are real picky about waht they get. The ameteurs I know all use Alien Bees or White Lightnings where I could get a full full light kit new for $1500 with a three year warranty. I get my 5 Foot Octoboxes from Amvona for about $200 with a speed ring. So your best bet is probably someone who already has Profoto gear and just wants to add a couple of heads.</p>
