<p>Great shots, everyone! The summer heat has been intense and is preventing too many walk-around ventures by snap-happy photographers, especially this one :( So I am posting a pic I shot last month.</p><div></div>

<p>This picture was taken in Marrakech last October. I call it "CAPTIVITY"</p><div></div>

Mine is from the Vieux Port (Old Port) in the Old section of Montreal and quite the tourist attraction. I was roaming around looking for shots and got some interesting rope studies. On my way back to my car, I spotted wedding photographers and the couple sitting on the typical cobblestone roads and lanes in this part of Montreal. i was not crazy about the way they posed the couple but thought the scene was worth a shot. <br>

The port as we know it today is the result of major development work done in the early 20th century. The years 1896 to 1930 were the Port of Montréal’s golden years, a time when it was the destination of trans-Atlantic ships and trains from all over North America. Millions of tonnes of merchandise travelled through Montréal, and to meet demand, the port modernized its facilities by building structures such as grain elevators, sheds and higher quays.</p><div></div>

<p>Good morning, all. I'm just back from a short trip to West Wales - this shot was taken in New Quay on Monday (between heavy showers!) and is presented essentially "in-camera".</p><div></div>

<p>Greetings to all from Benton, KY ...... As usual so many beautiful photos to admire. It is 2:30 am here and already there are 4 pages. I need to stay up a little later to get an early entry. It was real hot here the other day @ 105(f) so I just opened my office window and watched my Bird Feeder outside. It was too hot for the birds also as I didn't get hardly any showing up. Finally a Red Bird did. So at least my afternoon wasn't a total loss.<br /> phil b<br /> benton, ky</p><div></div>

<p>As always, great stuff this week. I shot this last Thursday of the debut concert of the recently formed LA Lawyers Philharmonic, made up of judges, lawyers and law students. Some of you may recognize the venue as the new one in downtown Los Angeles, don't want to mention the name because they don't like posting the interior on web sites.</p><div></div>

<p>Carrying on from the equine starting point. Pretty much as it came out of the camera with a B&W conversion and a little dodging and burning.</p><div></div>

<p>Going with the "early" theme: This is Flekkefjord in Norway, us arriving at something like 0300 in the morning after driving from Copenhagen - going diving in about 6 or 7 hours :-)<br>

<p>Great pics already "rolling in", another good start to Nikon Wednesday!!!<br /> I was with family at Marconi Beach on the National Seashore, Cape Cod, Ma. this past weekend. Three to five foot waves were curling in all day, a lot of surfing, water temps were a "frigid" 56 degrees, Brrrrrrr!</p><div></div>

<p>Last week, my wife and I made our annual summer pilgrimage Wolf Trap Farm Park in Vienna, VA. There we took in a show by the somewhat aged, but highly energetic and entertaining B52s.<br>
