chuck_foreman1
Wow that is very cool! It does have the big finder that I have on my late edition Vito B I think lots of the later edition used the big finder! I can'T tell if its the clear finder or the crystal ! I'll have to check my edition! (I'm in Europe)

daniirwan
I'm 98% sure it's a Vitomatic, that huge VF and the recessed advance lever is hard to be mistaken. Although it's hard to tell whether it's a Ia or IIa (or any other variant).
I love mine, great shooters.
k5083
Hey Sergio, don't be in too much of a hurry to replace that "used" "hand-me-down" camera with a new one that you could say is "really mine." You may find that the old girl can still "make you feel good" and help accomplish your photographic goals. BTW what was the "used" "hand-me-down" car you owned before the Corolla? Probably a BMW that was just nicely broken in, right?
John Smullen
Having owned a Vitomatic II I know it had one of the biggest finders out there. But even it couldn't be used two feet away. Wait - I know what he's doing...using the accessory shoe as a poor mans sports finder!

Lou_Meluso
If his parents raised him to work hard, why is he lazily shooting through the windshield of the car? I guess the good work ethic didn't carry over to photography. Pull over, get out and take a proper picture, Serg
Farside
Hey Serg, You're writing is barely legible and your girlfriend holding the camera is doing it all wrong. Never mind - I too will never forget my first Sh&t Old Toyota - I've still got it. Marvellous old heap, twenty one years old and still going well. Solid as a rock, too. Reminds me of some of the classic Japanese lenses of the 60s and 70s, but mind you, they didn't rot away like cornflakes in a dustbin - unlike the early Toyotas. Another thing Sergey baby, you're now the car in front, in your Toyota. Keep an eye open for those pesky recalls. Sincerely Vito
james_kennedy9
Great replies. I love this forum. How did I miss that he was holding it like a digital? Probably because if he wasn't, there would be no camera ID from that angle.

Louis, your point is well taken, but when I am out with my wife, she is the driver, since she refuses to get into my 96 Nissan pickup, with its fragrant "eau du sheepdog" essence. I often take a camera along and engage in driveby shooting, usually through the side window. I have gotten some good shots on stretches of highway where to stop would be suicide. I know it is heresy to admit it, but I usually use a digital P&S, nowadays the Canon Powershot A650IS, because the ratio of rejects to keepers is much higher than under more normal conditions.
