<p>Jane Bown</p>

<p>Robert Bergman</p>

<p>Gerard Malanga</p>

<p>Bill Owens</p>

<p>Mary Ellen Mark</p>

<p>Paul Fusco</p>

<p>Platon</p>

<p>That should keep you busy.</p>

<p><a href="http://www.pacemacgill.com/duanemichals-31-6.html">Duane Michals </a>worked almost entirely outside the studio. Many of Irving Penn's greatest portraits were also done "on location", but he found locations and brought his subjects there, or like Avedon, created a studio on location, using only daylight. <a href="http://www.clayenos.com/">Clay Enos</a> also works this way, to great effect. I think <a href="http://www.faheykleingallery.com/featured_artists/sturges/sturges_frames.htm">Jock Sturges</a> certainly is one of the best environmental portraitists... then there's <a href="http://www.faheykleingallery.com/featured_artists/winters/pers_page/winters_frames.htm">Dan Winters'</a> location stuff and <a href="http://www.peteryang.com/">Peter Yang</a>... geeze it goes on and on.. t</p>
