I'm shooting a dodgeball tournament - any tips?

Gotta admit, I've never shot a dodgeball tournament before, this will be a first.

Obviously, there will be indoor action stuff to shoot for the teams (getting hit in the head, throwing, dodging, etc.) as well as team photos and awards. I'll probably use my 50mm 1.4 and 28-75mm 2.8

Has anyone else ever shot a dodgeball tournament?

What else should I look to shoot while I am there?

Any other tips?

Hi,
I have shot dodgeball tournaments for my kids' youth group for 2 years. Here are a couple of examples. Keep the following in mind.

1. The kids are moving fast, and the balls even faster. Shooting at less than 1/200 will not work.
2. Be really good at panning. You have to follow the kids who look like they either have a really good arm, or make really good targets.
3. Bring you flash and lots of batteries. You will most likely be in a big huge gym, with bad lights and no walls or ceiling to bounce the flash off.
4. If you can't get the light you want, use a bigger aperture.
5. Stay low to the ground. The shots are more dramatic that way.
6. Bring lots of memory cards. If you can shoot in continuous mode, you can easily take over 600 pictures.
7. Bring a monopod. If it's low light, you will need every bit of stability you can get.
8. Shoot in RAW mode. If you don't have enough light, you may be able to recover using post processing software.
Enjoy it!

All kids love to see themselves in pictures, so you can't go wrong if you capture faces. Everyone loves to see someone getting beaned, and those pics will definitely end up on facebook. Action is probably the favorite, but team shots are also good.
