honeycomb grid for 10-inch reflector

<p>Hello, I don't have any indoor lighting experience other than bounce flash, and I recently got some Smith-Victor photofloods to try and expand. I'm having some difficulty finding honeycomb grids for the 10-inch reflectors. I'm guessing it'd be a 9-inch honeycomb from the many 7-inch models offered for 8-inch reflectors. I've done a lot of searching, Google, the big online retailers, even the posts here. I'm basically searching "honeycomb for 10-inch reflectors" and "9-inch honeycomb grid," "light modifiers, 10-inch reflector," but I've seen maybe only three or four that are quite expensive. Am I missing a search term that isn't obvious to me? Are 10-inch reflectors not a typical size for use with honeycombs? Total newbie question, I know, but I guess I'm at a loss for things to search for. Feel free to put "duh" in any response if you want. :-)<br /> Thanks!</p>

<p>I'm not sure about 10-inch grids, but if you do find some, you should see if you can get metal ones. Photofloods could get hot enough to melt plastic ones.</p>

<p>I've never seen or heard of honeycomb grids for hot lights, but that doen't mean anything.</p>

<p>Have you tried a simple set of barn doors or flags to narrow your beam spread? Yes, I know the character of the light at the edges will be different, but ...</p>

<p>You might look into getting some honeycomb expanded metal and making your own.</p>
