Minoxit
2010 spelt a bad omen on my Minox cameras...2 EC,1 A/IIIs and now a C are KIA.The EC's and IIIs are already with DAG Camera, and Don is doing his best.
I want C to be given a serious overhaul, but I do not have the time to send it to the US.Anyone here remembers or has on file Mr.Andrew Britton's address or phone nr?I recall something like :Dean Cottage near Andover/Cambridge,but that is all.I would need the full address or phone in order to contact and see fi he's willing to take on this C.
Thank you for your help! And a Happy St.Patrick's Day,for all you Irish folks here!
steve_d6
Man, that must've hurt for a Brit to wish 'happy St Patrick's Day' to the world!
As far as the contact for your model C, I'm stateside and could only recommend Don. He's backed up right now and has had several of my Minox models for a while. He regrets it, but I'm sure the job security is a comforting factor.
Typically, they work like new when received.
Next thing you know, the Easter Rising will be celebrated!

Best,
Steve

left pocket minox
I have experience with the man near Luton. Here is the web link to the Minox repair page:
http://www.angelfire.com/biz/Leica/page2.html
He helped me out back in 2003 and 2004 with Minox C, III and B repairs. I would call him first to see what his back log is. Last time I saw him was when he met me at the EasyJet counter at Luton airport and gave me my camera. I was transiting the airport and had an hour between flights. Really cool dude. If you are really stuck I can lend you a III until yours are repaired.

minox_london
Maybe they are just (sadly) very old, I wanted to shoot a few rolls again and my Minox A also doesnt want anymore. Its quite sad. Only had a full service and shutterblades in 2006 from Don (..well also now 4 years ago). Dagcamera and the Leica Repair shop in Luton are extremely busy and I may have to put my Minox to rest after an eventful life.
The problem is a ticking noise after each frame. This relates to the loss of response of the shutter release button. It works but with a serious gap of 2-3sec before the shutter mechanism is actually released. I fear it may stop working altogether.

Thank you
Pascal
