Arthur...Wow! Your picture stunned me. Thank you and very creative I might add. It seems that you got from this image what I did. I don't think it is among the faves of the mama in the pic, but it really was meditative for me. It can be difficult to quiet down when shooting sometimes...I miss a lot of moments when I get too revved or self conscious...know what I mean?
I love to check back and see all the wonderful contributions.

Mikhail...Really beautiful

Grant...Very nice treatment of a very photogenic cityscape

Rick...Just magnificent. Exquisite light and almost 3D sharpness

Dieter...Lovely, serene...appropriately named.

Pascal...Sweet shot. Is the picture in the bg their owner?...Keeping them company?

Vineet...Really nice. Quite captivating actually. Lovely colors, texture and comp.

Lawrence...Terrific shot and wonderful model

Isaac...Thank you! I love the pea pod. Really lovely light and color...very frameable and wallable

Janne...Love the mood, the colors and comp

Epp...Daring and exceptional...as always!

I enjoy the Wednesday collection for the quality and variety. It seems like a crime to leave out names but congrats to Roberta, Alpo and Dieter. I looked at a water drop tutorial on you-tube but I have yet to try it. Mine was taken late yesterday in park St.Catherine which borders the mighty St.Lawrence river on the South Shore (Rive-Sud) of Quebec. I must have taken about 40 odd images at that specific location over a period of one hour. I experimented with different shutter speeds messing with the ISO setting varying from 400 to as low as L10 ISO. Hope you like it.

00W1Y1-230073584.jpg.0e4d41aafdcf1e7b7276a5507cf29127.jpg

Happy St Patrick's Day
Here is one from the Parade today in Dublin City Centre--I brought my almost 3 yr old son to his first ever parade. We were lucky enough to watch it from an appartment over looking Dublin's O'Connell Bridge and O'Connell Street. I wanted to encompass some of this central street and some of the great colours. In the background is the statue of Daniel O'Connell himself and the famous GPO. CBS cameramen were also shooting from this appartment and my son and his friends got to be on TV!
Hope you enjoy!

00W1YO-230075584.jpg.3f670af355d1bb1dffde9dfdb41c7f08.jpg

I love the way multiple mini-themes develop on this thread each week! Aside from the spectacular birds, and the amazing macros, I'm especially digging the concert shots from Phil Burt , Thomas Gerstendoerfer , Gabriel Hasser , and Epp B.
And the variations on the nautical theme this week are thought provoking, too: Anish Mankuthel , Cees Maas and Kent Shafer
I also want to extend a warm WeLCoMe to Gabriel and all our other first-timers!
Everyone's offerings are magical and inspiring, but here are a few others among this week's images that made me stop and linger this week:
Lil Judd -- a lovely spot, a lovely shot, and a nice job with a very tricky mixed exposure situation.
Caillum Smith : An exceptional portrait that makes me feel like he's my friend, too.
Tiffany Brook : What can I say? Your portraits make me smile and weep.
Rick Moran : Spoonbills ain't what you'd call "pretty," but this is a beautiful shot and a great capture. Were you really shooting 600mm x 1.4 x 1.5 crop factor???? Where were you sitting when you took this? Cuba? ;-)
Roberta Davidson : I am amazed at the endless variety of images you are able to create with your water drops -- keep them coming!
Joe Walsh : First I saw the gorgeous colors. Then I saw the violence. Awesome.
Lawrence Ho : I've only seen them on t-shirts before -- this one made me smile.
Alpo Syvänen : THere's something special about this one. Well done.
Issac Sam : It's wonderful to find beauty in something as unassuming as a peapod. Love the light and the colors and the black background.
It's taken me so long to write this that I'm sure I'll have to write a second installment on the images posted since I started...

I wanted to add my shot taken today out for a walk with my cute, sweet, cuddly Bernese Kona. I adjusted the light a bit and there is a small crop. Taken with my d90 and a 70-300 zoom at f5 iso 400 and 1/400. Maybe I should have the speed a bit faster next time.

00W1bc-230093584.jpg.324f347b64feea409e3f57410f2dbb7d.jpg

From back in the film era... My daughter at around age 3-4, looking as cute as can be. One my favorite images from that period. Recently found the negative and decided to give it a scan on my Coolscan V. Without too much trouble, I was able to match the colors to a pro-level print from back then. Nice to have an archived digital file now.

Best Wednesday greetings to all. It's still Wednesday, and the thread has grown to three pages!

00W1fI-230113584.jpg.d3365259dded793a7bc39bfc0b70ce72.jpg

Bill Boyd, Gej Jones, Isaac Sam, and Mark Jordan stuck out to me in another superb Wednesday. Work was so hectic I almost forgot what day it was, that would've been sad!

A bit over done, but water droplets are a lot of fun and a lot easier to do than I expected. They also beat being outside when it is wet and cold.

00W1ji-230141584.thumb.jpg.e32c17560df11ef5ac6346d155e32a16.jpg
