HarryBaker
Is anyone else having problems with intrusive advertisements? While recognising that photo.net needs to carry adverts to help with finances, the B&Q advert running as a banner in the Leica Forum is extremely irritating. I've had trouble navigating around the site because every time I go anywhere near it, it loads up a film clip!!
starvy
I have firefox setup in such a way that no adverts in any shape or form ever get displayed. Now that you have mentioned it, I shall try and view it in IE.
HarryBaker
How do you configure Firefox for that?
starvy
Harry, such a question can't be answered here as in fairness, a site such as this requires money through advertising revenue. A click means it pays for a few more pics or a bit of bandwidth. With that in mind I shall refrain from even attempting to answer such a question. Do feel free to do a search on google. All the answers are there and it doesn't need advanced computer knowldge to figure it out. I am sorry if I haven't been able to answer your question directly. I am fully behind a site full of adverts as it generates income for the site that teaches me much about photography.
HarryBaker
I accept what you say and I don't mind all adverts. What I do mind is adverts that don't allow you to take them or leave them! Especially adverts which have zilch to do with photography. Provided I can look at them if I want to, then that's OK. I guess I can download an add blocker add-on if I get too frustrated.

Confusing.
hal_b
I understand adverts on the side bar. Some nuissances can't be helped. It's the ones that pop up and block the page that anger me. I make note of which companies use such adverts, and make a point not to use their products. I don't support such intrusive advertising.
