Kent Shafer
Saturday. Midnight. The kids went to Rock’n’Bowl and had a couple beers—Becky, her boyfriend Carl, her brother Roger, and Roger’s girlfriend Fran. In the parking lot, they share a pizza on the hood of Fran’s Corolla.

“Better lay off the pizza, Beck,” says Carl. “You’re getting fat.”

Becky blurts out, “I’m not fat, you insensitive jerk! I’m pregnant!”

Silence.

“Oh you poor dear!” says Fran.

“You #&^%$#%$# !” screams Roger. His first punch breaks Carl’s nose. Streaming blood and wild with rage and pain, Carl tackles Roger and knocks him flat.

Fran helps Becky into the car. They head to Fran’s house for Häagen-Dazs and a good cry. Carl and Roger fight until the police cruiser comes.

. . .

Sunday morning. Starlings feast on pizza. Regular bowlers arrive for their practice session. One of them has a Coolpix L19 in his pocket.

dave_wilson1
Wow, so many awesome images, now on to mine, ha-ha. We had some thawing this week and I noticed a dove/pigeon sitting in a sunny spot doing some birdie things. So, I got the D200 and my usual 300 4.5 Ais and shot a few quick pics through the screen before it flew off. I'm calling this "Morning Dove".

It warmed up a bit here this weekend and at least one family decided to crank up the boat and get out on the river. The temperature has fallen back into the thirties now. I'm so ready for spring!

rarmstrong
Good morning!
Beautiful collection of images so far! I went out Sunday to see if there was more bird activity, but to my disappointment, the birds were scarce. Then this guy/gal hopped up on a nearby fence post and posed so nicely that I had to do the portrait:-)
This was with my D300, 80-400 mm VR zoom at f8, 1/250 sec, iso 200, 350 mm, handheld.
Have a great week, everyone!
Dick
