derek_street
I just developed my first roll of EFKE Infrared film and when i took it out of the wash it was VERY VERY slimy. I've never experienced anything like this. I'm not sure if I should put it in a longer fix ( I fixed it for 5 min) or maybe a longer wash (also 5 min) or should i Just let it dry and hope that it works it self out? Any help would be great thank you.
leicaglow
Derek, I think with Efke, you want to use a hardener with your fixer, but it shouldn't be slimy. How did you handle/process the film after you fixed it? Hypo? PhotoFlo? Wash?
sg_adams
5 min wash? I would think 25 to 40 mins more appropriate.
Also, perhaps someone with more experience can expand on this but I'm throwing it out there based on my experience with Maco which if I am not mistaken is very similar.
Maco had a blue anti-halation layer that one would wash off prior to adding developer. The water would litterally run blue when I would pour it out of the tank. It is very much like the simple pre soak, and you will want to make sure that straight water halation layer/presoak water is 68 F or at least the same temp as your developer.
Anyone else?
