I am new to this forum, but not new to photography. Have been loving the joy of taking photos since I was a teenager. My brothers would tell me to stop taking so many photos because I was embarrassing them. Almost 30 years later, I now make a living taking too many photos as a NYC wedding photographer .

I always dreamed of making a living as a professional photographer, but was always discouraged by photographers in the industry who said it is a difficult way to make a living. This advice led me to graduating college with an accounting degree, working as a government auditor and having my own tax and accounting practice. My love for photography drove me to quit me job and start an internet photo-sharing site. Although I received a patent for the photo-sharing method it was not a successful business model. Through the encouragement of friends and family I started shooting weddings and realized I had found my perfect job.

Currently my wife and I own a small studio offering Manhattan wedding photography. Our website is http://www.funicostudios.com

I look forward to learning and sharing on this forum. Hopefully my experience in non-photography related areas can be helpful to other participants. I anticipate that having an 8 month year old daughter will prevent me from contributing as much as I would like. You can learn more about her and my business on my blog http://funicostudios.com/funicoblog/ Check out our new experiment, a slide-show with commentary.
