tyler_craft
I have a Pentax 6x7 and about 3 lenses for it (along with a converter). I am trying to find a bag for it, and I really like the Domke's. I am looking at the F2, F6, F4. Sadly there aren't any stores locally which have these in stock for me to try out.

So I thought I'd see what other people recommend. I am not a pro - rather a very serious hobbyist. So I don't need a bag to hold every single thing in the world. However, I don't want it too small either.

Any advice or recommendations?

Thanks in advance!
d_purdy
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/125640-REG/Domke_700_J2B_J_2_Journalist_Shoulder_Bag.html
I am a big fan of Domke bags and have a few. I keep my Pentax 67 in the J-2. you can create a place in the middle large enough to hold the camera with a lens on it and there is room on either side to put a few more lenses. There is plenty of room for film and filters and a flash. It is a good bag.
Dennis
JCBeard
The F6 is definitely not big enough. I used to carry my MF kit in a F1x which consisted of one or two Fujica 690 bodies and three lenses plus all other misc. filters, film, etc. But I think the F2 would have worked better.
“You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.” — Wayne Gretsky
alpenglow
I have the F-2 and F-1X that I use to carry around my Mamiya medium format gear, and I find that the F-2 is still too small. But I love the F-1X. My vote is for the F-1X... you will fill it up... believe me :-)

Mike
gary_watson
The F2 is just too small. It's fine for my Bronica SQ-B or Mamiya 645 kits. The F1X is near-perfect for that other sumo-sized system, the Mamiya RB67. Consider getting the ballistic nylon version. By all means, though, don't pass up the Domke shoulder strap pad--a lifesaver if you're toting that much tonnage.
rob_wall
As others have said, I have the F-2 and F-4 and neither of them is big enough.
photomat-
I just ordered an F5-XC from BH. It's more of a messenger style bag. I liked the look of it as it doesn't scream expensive camera gear. I plan on using it to carry an SQ-B and a Rolleiflex, or my digital stuff when I am shooting that. Can't offer any other insight on it till it arrives on the 24th.

david_carson
I like the F-1x too. I cut the strap off for an OP-Tech bag strap and took that irritating "lid-must-be-snapped-closed-to-use" handle off and replaced it with the domke "dowel-in-the-middle" accessory handle which clips to each end of the bag. Now I can pick it up without clipping the bag shut.
