My Online LHSA Articles

I've published three articles on the Leica Historical Society of America's website. Anyone can access them. Go here: http://www.lhsa.org/resources/articles/default.aspx

Or you can just Google "Alex Shishin, LHSA."

I also had a couple of articles with photos in Viewfinder Vol. 42, No 3, 2009. One is "My Black M2 and the Kameraleder Half-Case for Leica M and Abrahamsson Rapidwinder" and the other is "Paris in Winter." I am pleased (relieved) that the latter came out as well as it did. It's a simple tale about what I did on my winter vacation but I must have revised it thirty or forty times.

Hi, Alex. I've enjoyed your recent articles in Viewfinder very much and I am impressed by the accuracy of your typing. I say that because each issue has numerous typos and/or misspellings which degrade the articles and bug me so much. I excelled all throughout my school years regarding English grammar and was at the top of my class in court reporting, but I had to drop out of the latter because the school closed after filing for bankruptcy. I told the Viewfinder editor that I would gladly edit every issue's contents free of charge in order to get rid of misspellings and typos and thereby clean up the mess, but he turned me down, so those bothersome mistakes persist.

Thanks Terry and Vic!! Really appreciate your comments!

Yeah, the VF really does need copy editing. I noticed a blooper in my Kameraleder article (tense). Editing is an endless job with little glory. Terry, you deserve a Nobel Prize just for volunteering.

Vic glad that old thread still gives you a chuckle. Haven't seen that sort of thing lately. I think the ubiquitous presence of mobile phone cameras have made folks more self-conscious.

Cheers Terry and Vic!
