andy clarke
Chrise,

I would also like to know, from what I know about mine, as I have said before. Everything is made of metal, there is no plastic. I got it given to me and it looks like it has seen a lot of action as its fairly beaten up, but works perfectly.

Jeff,

The only disadvantage I can see with the 115 head is that there is no quick release plate, or is there an alternative/add on?
jim_peterson2
I use an older 055 (pre-carbon version) with a very heavy Slik head to support my 6x7 and it works fine. I like the look of the 115 head because it has a large surface area that will be in contact with the camera body. I've been told that is crucial.
jeff_livacich
Manfrotto makes several add-ons. They call them quick release plate adaptors. They all come with a matching plate. I think probably the 394 (takes the 410PL plate) or 577 (takes 510PL plate) would work well. Check their website to see for yourself. The 394 is in the photo QR adapter category, while the 577 is in the video QR adapter category.
