wotan vm 300 studio flash question

<p>I have just bought a Wotan VM 300 studio flash. It seems nice, and clever, but I am having a little problem.</p>

<p>I found a SCA 307 A connection cord for it to use it off-camera. I am finding that when the flash is on it's original shoe, the auto mode seems to be working just fine. It gives me back a range for the auto flash using green LED's. As soon as it comes off it's shoe and onto the connection cable, the auto mode no longer works. When I fire a test flash I just get a red LED which means underexposed.</p>

<p>Has anyone had any experience with this flash? Better still, does anyone have the manual?</p>
