didier
Dear all, I am going to spend the next week-end in London. I'd like to pay a visit to some reputable dealer (looking for used equipment mainly or any good deal). Can you advise me about where to go? (1 or 2 shops) Thanks Didier
paul t
MW classic - vistis by appointment, they are well regarded and not as overpirced as most:

http://www.mwclassic.com/

Red Dot cameras is on Old Street. I\ve bought good items from this gent when he had a stall in Brick Lane:

http://www.reddotcameras.co.uk/about_us.php

Plus there are many dealers worth checking out around the Brisith Museum, altho you'll be lucky to find bargains. The Aperture Café is good for coffee & cake:
http://www.apertureuk.com/about.htm

enjoy the trip!
Richard Williams
Other dealers near Aperture and the British Museum include:
http://www.rglewis.co.uk/
http://www.theclassiccamera.com/
They are so close together you can easily do these two and Aperture in short order, and probably have time to check out a nearby non-specialist dealer that often carries secondhand Leica:
http://www.jacobsdigital.co.uk/index.php?target=pages&page_id=stores&storeid=10

Elsewhere, I would suggest:
http://www.richardcaplan.co.uk/
(when I was shopping for an M6, these guys had the best one I could find for the price).
john_lawrence4
Just another thumbs up for Richard Caplan, always had great items from him and well priced too!

You may also like to try Peter Loy as well. Primarily he deals by mail order, but you can make an appointment to view items at his London base. His website (with stock list) is here:

www.peterloy.com

Have a good trip,

John

BernardMiller
Darn! Sorry this is a bit late, but if you're ever back in South London, a trip down to the Croydon High Street is definitely worth your time. Reg Roach, the engaging proprietor of High Street Radio (croydonphotocentre.co.uk on the Web), always has plenty of nice Leica gear at good prices. Plus he'll no doubt share some interesting tales and a cup of coffee if you pop in and hang out with the regulars for a bit.
One of London's best (and most overlooked!) source of Leica cameras, lenses--and the little odd bits that everyone needs.
