Used D300 - Worth the price?

<p>I have the oppurtunity to purchase a used D300 in great shape with 46,978 shutter actuations for @ $875. Is this worth the price?? I know they are rated to 150,000 actuations. Just looking for some thoughts.<br>

<p>Sounds reasonable - provided everything else is working fine; shutter actuation numbers aren't everything.</p>

<p>Is it a local, cash-in-hand transaction? Or an ebay item from a seller with a 99.5% or higher rating? If not, seriously question this purchase. Otherwise, good price, I'd say!</p>

<p>It depends on whether or not the D300 will do anything for you that you need, what lenses you have, and what you like to shoot. A camera is just part of a system.</p>

<p>Hey I had 100% until some newbie tagged me with a neg after trying to extort $$ and then turned down a full refund. Ebay now rates % by the last 12 months which puts me at 98.3. As it stands since 2001 I have 261 (buying and selling) ratings with one negative yet can't show the true percentage figure which is far better than 98.3. Be careful how you judge the sellers. Ebay now sucks at protecting them against buyer abuse.</p>

<p>Agree with Dieter. make sure the camera is in good working order. If you're not familiar, then bring someone else with you. Taking Kent's note, I am assuming that this is the camera you're looking for. The D300 is one fine camera. I bought mine pre-owned too, but cost me more than what you're paying.</p>
