Staying with the cute critter theme again this week, this little fella is a young member of a Meerkat family at London Zoo. A zookeeper entered with a palm load of mealworms, which were eagerly gobbled up by the entire troop, after which this little one hooked onto the keepers hand as if to say "where's mine ?" Aaahh.........
Not the most photographically challenged shot, Highly cropped, they don't hang about too much to pose so it was a wider shot. They are so cute, but apparently they have very sharp teeth. D700, iso 500, 1/640 at f/9, 95mm.

This one's from July, but I've been too tied up at the office to shoot this week. My sister and brother in law, with my spirited little niece. We got her to smile by counting "1-2-3... Beer!" I kid you not...

NIKON D50 , ISO: 200, 1/320 sec , f5.3 , 18-200VR @ 90mm

Hello everybody!

Great photos once again. First of all, thank all of you that noticed my shot from last week and took your time to comment on it. I really appreciate it!

My favorites for today are:
Jeff Lipsman - I can't tell why, I just like it. Perhaps to try and BW version?
Dieter Schaefer - Love the composition and the place, but I dislike that HDR look that this photo has.
When I did HDR's I always tried to make colors as normal as possible. But that's just me. :)
Epp B - magazine quality image. Nothing much to add.
James Kazan - my kind of landscape, wide angle, water with long exp. , good front part of image...

And for me, I just purchased Cokin infrared filter, and this Sunday it was my first try...

Nikon D80, Sigma 10-20@10 mm, f8, 89.3 seconds, ISO 100, Cokin IR filter.

MS Keil, thank you for asking. My picture is taken in Norway about 200km south of the arctic circle and not too far from the Swedish border. There are some lakes and hills about 30minutes drive east from our house that offer us endless wilderness and hiking possibilites. I take my son camping there about every 3rd weekend, summer and winter.

Great photos once more! Aaron, Joseph, Roberta... and Jose. Thanks for you comments last week, they are appreciated AND you put me to shame :( I just never got back to the thread to comment. Promise I will so this week!

Went out at 5 AM on Saturday and drove 2 hours south, as foliage here is past its peak. The morning was lousy and cold (OK, Hamish, nothing like that), I tool parallel shot with 6x7 gear and Nikon D700. Turned out to be nicer later in the day. Did not quite get what I was looking for (the "classic" New England Fall shot), but there are plenty of those anyway. So here is my rendition:
